Georges Seurat

Georges Seurat was a French Post-Impressionist who developed Pointillism, a painting technique in which small dots of pure colour blend in the viewer's eye to form an image. His monumental A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, completed in 1886, is one of the icons of nineteenth-century art.
