Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a French Post-Impressionist painter and printmaker who became the chronicler of late nineteenth-century Parisian nightlife. His lithographic posters for the Moulin Rouge, the Divan Japonais and the cabaret singer Aristide Bruant transformed advertising into fine art and defined the visual language of the Belle Époque.
