Kazimir Malevich

Kazimir Malevich was a Russian-Ukrainian painter who, in 1915, exhibited Black Square at the last futurist exhibition in Petrograd, presenting it as the zero point of painting. The Suprematist movement he founded, with its floating geometric forms on white grounds, remains a defining moment in the history of abstraction.
