Paul Signac was a French Post-Impressionist who worked alongside Seurat to develop and codify Pointillism, later moving toward larger mosaic-like brushstrokes. He travelled the coasts of France in his sailing boat, recording the light of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic in pure prismatic colour.
