Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a French Impressionist celebrated for warm, light-filled paintings of friends, dancers and bathers. His scenes of Parisian leisure, including the famous Bal du moulin de la Galette, sit at the heart of the Impressionist project to paint modern life as it was actually lived.
