Vincenzo Coronelli was a Venetian Franciscan friar, cartographer and globe-maker. He produced great terrestrial and celestial globes for the courts of Europe, including a pair almost four metres across for Louis XIV, alongside detailed regional and city plans of the late seventeenth-century Mediterranean world.
